Mother's Cubbard is a family run business founded by
Michelle Lamar in 2008.
"My goal was to produce a helpful baby product that meets all
of the latest safety standards and regulations for parental
peace of mind while making a product baby would love and be
able to use independently".
As a mom, I only want to buy safe products for my children, so
our product will be made in the USA using materials approved by
the FDA and will be tested to meet ASTM and CPSIA toy safety standards.
Our Story: We have been blessed with two wonderful children.
My son was not interested in pacifiers or thumb sucking.
About 21 months later, along came our daughter and that was a
whole different story. She was a finger sucker, and I say "finger"
because she preferred the middle one before she found her thumb.
She inherited a slight overbite and our Pediatrician warned that
thumb sucking would only add to the problem. The doctor
also shared that a pacifier is much easier to remove from a
child at a later date than a thumb is.
Armed with this information I went shopping for pacifiers. There
are so many to choose from, but what I found was that they all
had the same challenges for an infant...as soon as they open their
mouths the pacifier falls out, and who is charged with retrieving
it and putting it back in their mouths? Parents!, over and over
and over again.
Yesterday's pacifiers were a great idea, but it has been my
experience that they were just not baby-friendly.
The little ring on the back is not easily manipulated by a 3 month
old, which can lead to frustration and a lot of crying if you
aren't standing by to replace the pacifier when it drops.
I thought, "if she could just somehow hold on to it herself".
Then, bang, it occurred to me....why don't I make one she
can hold onto?
This brings us to Paci-Sphere, I developed Paci-Sphere first and foremost
to bring independence and joy to baby with an end result of
more time for mom and dad to do something other than hunt down
baby's pacifier and replace it in baby's mouth or even hold it in
place. I clearly remember the first time I gave my first
"home-made" version to my daughter when she was 3 months
old. Her eyes lit up, she took the Paci-Sphere in her hand, looked at it,
smiled and put it in her mouth. She then took it out, put it in, took it
out and put it in and it seemed as though she actually realized
that now she could fulfill one of her own needs herself!
She seemed more confident and a touch independent.
Paci-Sphere is so easy to use that I am confident it will become baby's
favorite pacifier.
